Chronifer M15X is a hardenable, martensitic stainless steel. It is vacuum melted, nitrogen alloyed, gas atomized, hot isostatic pressing (HIP) consolidated, warm and subsequently cold drawn. Chronifer M-15x has excellent microstructural cleanliness and homogeneity with very fine microstructure (ASTM grain size no ≤ 10). All the properties of Chronifer M-15X are significantly superior to the standard allloy 1.4057 (AISI 431). Its machinability is unproblematic and can be reproduced from one lot to the next. Its polishability is remarkable and the corrosion resistance (after heat treatment is outstanding.

Coil: Ø 0.70-3.00 mm : ISO fg7
Bars: Ø 0.70-2.99 mm : cold drawn; ISO h5, surface finish Ra ≤0.2
Bars Ø 3.00 - 12.00mm : cold drawn; ground & polished, ISO h5, surface finish Ra ≤0.2
Extra tolerance on request.
Cold Formability
Very well adapted to all secondary and complementary cold deformations such as burnishing, thread, rolling, stamping.
Polishing
Very well adapted to all polishing methods and processes
Tensile Strength
Tensile Strength (Rm) >800MPa
Cutting Rate
vc ~ 45 . 60 m/min, value depending on the lubrication oil, cutting tools and shape of parts.
