Aluminium alloy BS L165 is the aerospace specification for 2014A-T6 Alclad sheet and strip. In order to combat 2014A's poor corrosion resistance, L165 is clad with pure aluminium. L165 / 2014A is alloyed with copper (3.90-5.00%) giving it high strength, which it retains after its heat treatment. As such L165 finds usage in many aerospace and defence high strength applications. Aircraft Materials stocks L165 in a wide range of sheet thicknesses ready for same day shipment.
