Alloy 718 is used for welding of InconelĀ® alloys 718, 706 and X-750. This filler metal is mainly used for welding high strength aircraft components and liquid rocket components involving cryogenic temperatures. The weld metal of the 718 is age hardenable and has mechanical properties comparable to those of the base metals
